Adult Alcohol and Drug Assessment Tests (12 Different Test Scales in One Instrument)

Adult Alcohol and Drug Assessments: – Independently Validated* Adult Alcohol and Drug Testing Scales have been compiled, or grouped, into a single assessment instrument.  The use of twelve individual alcohol, drug and psychological testing scales eliminates misdiagnosis and false positives that occur with other drug testing tools and provides a sound basis for improvement recommendations.   No changes have been made to the original test scales and all of the alcohol and drug tests are scored in accordance with the author’s instructions.  The alcohol and drug test scales included in the Adult Compu-Tools drug assessment instrument include:

Note:  Most Clinicians use the Compu-Tools Questionnaires (See below) and their Assessment Process is as follows:

·         The Client completes the Demographic information, non-disclosure agreement, Drug Self Tests and the Psychological Tests on the Compu-Tools questionnaire. (20-30 minutes)

·         The Clinician reviews the information completed by the Client.

o        If the Alcohol/Drug Self Tests shows that the Client admits to an Alcohol or Drug problem, the Compu-Tool Assessment Questionnaire can be completed by the Client or by the Clinician and Client. (15-30 minutes)

o        If the Alcohol/Drug Self Tests show no evidence of a problem, the Compu-Tools Assessment Questionnaire should be completed by the Clinician (20-30 minutes)

o        After Completing all questions, the Clinician enters the Client question responses into the computer software (8-12 minutes)

o        The Assessment Software scores all Compu-Tools test scales and prints a completed Drug Assessment (2-4 minutes)

The Compu-Tools Adult Drug Testing Instruments – on the WWW: - Adult alcohol and drug assessments can be completed on the iMR Internet site: http://www.imresponsible.com .   A demonstration, or guest login, is provided so Clinicians can create a test client, complete a sample assessment on the Assessment Tools link, complete a performance contract and print out the completed alcohol and drug assessment.  Continuing imresponsible.com access can be purchased for a nominal monthly fee.

Included in the Compu-Tools Adult Assessment are the following test scales:

(1) Adult Alcohol and Drug Self Test: The Client starts with two “quick quiz” self tests that include 45 questions about a clients’ Alcohol or Drug Use. These alcohol and drug test questions include: descriptions of the clients’ drug use, symptoms of this drug use and any consequences of continued alcohol, or drug, use.  The “quick quizzes” are useful to a drug assessment clinician in determining if a client is admitting to alcohol or drug use and is being honest in his, or her, responses.  If a problem is not admitted by the Client, the Clinician will need to complete the Compu-Tools Assessment Questionnaire to determine if there is Client denial present or an actual lack of alcohol or drug abuse.  If a Client has been honest about their drug use, the entire Assessment can be completed by the Client without a Clinician being directly involved.

(2) Psychological Tests:  The Client completes four “Psychological Tests – (Depression, Anxiety, Cognitive and Anger)” that include a total of 105 questions that will assist in determining if there are other factors that need to be considered by the Clinician as he, or she, develops the appropriate recommendations for future client actions.  The scales mentioned in (1) and (2) are all completed by the client and do not involve clinician time during the assessments.

(3) Compu-Tools Alcohol and Drug Assessment Questionnaire:  The Drug Assessment Questionnaire” includes a total of 81 questions, from 6 individual test scales, and is designed for a Clinician to use during an interview as he, or she, acquires honest client responses to the questions posed.    After all the questions, in all the test scales, have been completed, the Compu-Tools software automatically scores all of the scales that have been used. The total Clinician time required to complete all of the Drug Testing processes mentioned above is from 15 -40 minutes. This time will vary based on the techniques used by the Clinician to gather and enter all of the responses provided by the client into the Alcohol and Drug Assessment Software. This Questionnaire can also be completed by a client who has indicated, through the self tests results, that they have little denial to be considered.    The Drug Testing Features on our web-site provide an integrated link to other Compu-Tools features.  These include Performance Contracts and Monitoring Servicesor Case Management Services.  See other web modules.

Note:  Compu-Tools Assessment Instruments compare the “Client’s own responses” to a wide variety of questions against validated scoring matrixes.  The Company or Clinician is not responsible for the Assessment output – the Client is.  The process is an assisted self-diagnosis by the Individual.  (Validation studies of the individual test scales used in Compu-Tools is available upon request.)

The Compu-Tools Adult Drug Testing Instruments – on your Desktop: - For those customers who need portable versions of the Compu-Tools Alcohol and Drug Testing Instruments, the same drug test scales shown above are available for purchase on a CD (Compact Disk).  All features described above are present on the CD versions.  The Performance Contracts feature is also included on the Drug Testing Software CD but our customers must use the web-site to access and use the Case Management or Monitoring Services features.

ASAM Criteria: - Compu-Tools computerized test results include ASAM coding that enables the Clinician to more accurately assess ASAM placement criteria. This drug testing output can be entered onto a ASAM Criteria Worksheet (See Publications) provided free, via download, on the imresponsible.com site...  See ASAM Criteria for more information about how this feature works or go to the ASAM organization web-site to learn more about ASAM criteria. (http://www.asam.org/)

Compu-Tools Adult Alcohol and Drug Testing Questionnaires:  Should it be more convenient for the Clinician, or Client, to complete the alcohol and drug testing questions “off-line” or “away from the computer”, iMR.com sells paper Questionnaires that match the content of the computer testing screens.  In this way, a Clinician or Client can answer all the required questions at his, or her, own pace and then transfer the information onto the Compu-Tools Assessment Tools software module – either on the imresponsible.com web-site or on the Clinicians desktop – if the portable Compu-Tools CD was purchased.)  Once the information is entered into the Drug Testing Software, it will be automatically scored, printed and securely stored in accordance with the company’s instructions.
